Previously it was necessary for new vehicle owners to take the vehicle back to the dealer who sold it for the annual service, however new European rules now allow you to take the car to any independent garage to have this work carried out. This means that you can benefit from cheaper servicing prices and have your service carried out at a garage that is local to you.

A car service is very important to make sure that your car is going to be safe to drive on the road. By having an annual service it will help to prolong the life of your vehicle by catching any minor problems early before turn into major and costly things to rectify. You can either choose an interim or a full service – the interim service is done on a 6 monthly basis and would be recommended for motorists who do a lot of driving each year.

There are many different checks that are undertaken when a car is serviced and these can include checking:

Electrics and lighting
The condition of the tyres and wheels
The battery
The oil, air and fuel filters
The car’s suspension and steering
