Suspension

A car’s suspension is responsible for ensuring that all 4 wheels keep in contact with the road and to make sure that the car passengers have a comfortable ride. The suspension uses springs to support the car and shock absorbers to take the strain if the springs cause an uncomfortable bumpy movement when going over uneven ground. Some common problems to watch out for with the car’s suspension are the shock absorbers wearing out – this would be indicated by the car exhibiting excessive bouncing when going over bumpy surfaces. Also, the car’s ball joints can sometimes become worn and come apart which can lead to the car drifting across the road while travelling which is obviously very dangerous. If you notice any changes with the handling of the car it is a good idea to have the suspension checked to make sure that it is safe to drive the vehicle.

It is advisable to have regular checks on your car’s suspension at either annually or at 6 monthly intervals. By requesting an enquiry on suspension from mendmymotor.com it will be passed onto a local independent garage in your local area that we have a working partnership with. You can be assured of a high standard of workmanship and friendly service from the garage and prices that are cheaper than are charged at the franchised car dealers.
